Recessionista Ballerina Girl - UsMagazine.com

Ballerina slippers never go out of style. They’re so pretty and femme in a world of buckles and bondage. Not everyone is going to want to channel the King of Pop this Fall, so here’s a change.

I love the petal blush color and the contrasting grosgrain ribbon that’s slightly distressed and curled on these Urban Outfitters leather ballet flats. These flats come in two colors — champagne and black — and are only available online.

Dressed up with an LBD or down with boyfriend jeans and a cardigan, these flats are perfect for showing that girly yet practical side.

How cool is this canvas tote from BagLadies.com? Karl Lagerfeld, The Kaiser, and creator all of that’s chic and classic is wearing their bag created in his honor that kind of says it all.

We love Karl, but I’m sure everyone would say “huh? Who is that?” He’s the guy who designed $6000 suits and $3000 bags — and he’s now got his own tote. Sign me up for my tote, too!

Winslet Stretches Her Range For St. John

It’s almost unbelievable, but British beauty Kate Winslet had never appeared in a fashion campaign until California knitwear label St. John lured her in. The actress steps into a role previously held by Karen Elson, Angelina Jolie before her, and Kelly (daughter of founder Marie) Gray before that. Here, in this video debuting exclusively on Style.com, Winslet gives us a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her Craig McDean-lensed photo shoot.

Recessionista Hammer Time! - UsMagazine.com

As the pants come back in style, I just wasn’t sure if I wanted to ease on down the road again. Hammer is still around, but battling foreclosure and I am not sure if the kids could take me as the “vaudevillian” mom on the playground.

All joking aside, I kind of like these pants from Mandee. These pants would be perfect with an over-sized or even shrunken blazer or a fitted top to play off the proportion. To finish off the ensemble, always add a high stiletto or platform — especially for the short gals like myself. The best part? Mandee’s version is just $20 and you won’t be crying that you wasted cash. You can touch this!

I was very hesitant in the beginning of spring to wear harem pants. I have been down this path before, but it was 20 years ago when I, and several others like me, actually worshipped M.C. Hammer as a god. And I’m not ashamed — I loved his little legs dancing back and forth in those gold pants!
